4 Acne Erasing Secrets Revealed

These acne erasing secrets I am going to reveal will help you to overcome acne. Although acne won’t kill you it is still a major annoyance. But you are not alone: with over 85% of men and women facing acne at some point. It varies a lot, affecting some worse than others.

You may be one of the people who finds their acne embarrassing. We often think acne is a problem that faces teenagers but lots of adults get it too. People go into their 30’s and 40’s with acne.

It’s not an ideal scenario at all, but the good news is that acne can be cured. Or at least made less severe. A few things you can do to clear up acne are to eat properly and follow a good skin care regime.

The following 4 acne erasing secrets may not be the usual advice, but they do work if you follow them.

Use Garlic on Your Pimples

acne erasing secretsOK so this one isn’t a tip you want to follow if you plan to go outside straight after, because of the smell. But applying garlic is a great way to reduce swelling and encourage pimples to heal.

Don’t just apply neat though. You will have to extract the garlic cloves juice first. Squeeze or use a juicer and dilute with water before applying to individual pimples.

Keep Your Pillow Case Clean

Chances are that if you have had acne for a while, you will be trying your best to keep your face and body as clean as possible. Did you know you could be negating your hard work by sleeping on a dirty pillowcase?

Bacteria breeds in the dead skin cells we can’t help but shed onto our pillow cases. So in an ideal world you would use a fresh pillowcase every night. This would mean buying 4 or 5 pillowcases so you can take turns washing and using them every night.

Stop Touching Your Face!

You may be thinking, “I don’t touch my face” but you’ll probably be wrong. Most of us transfer bacteria onto our face several times during each day. And if you are prone to acne then that bacteria can get into your pores and start breeding pimples.

Another way touching your face is bad for your skin is when you pick existing pimples. This is a prime way of causing acne scarring so you really should try not to interfere with your pimples and cysts and let them heal naturally.

If you still struggle with skin touching and picking then make sure to wash your hands with antibacterial hand wash several times a day.

Make a Natural Face Mask

You can buy literally thousands of face masks, all claiming to beat acne and give you clear skin. While it is helpful to have an anti acne skincare kit such as Clear Pores (which contains everything you need to treat and clear up stubborn acne both on your face and body), you can go down the DIY route of these acne erasing secrets.

So why not try making your own anti acne face mask?

To make it:

  1. Take an avocado and mix the pulp with 1 tbsp of honey.
  2. Blend until you have the consistency of a paste.
  3. Apply the paste to active acne areas.
  4. Let the face mask sink in for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Wash off with warm water.

Apply the acne clearing moisturizer from your Clear Pores kit afterwards to really penetrate your pores and clear up acne, while preventing future breakouts.

Body Acne Home Treatment and Causes

You know you have body acne when pimples and cysts start appearing on you neck, shoulders, chest or upper arms. It can even appear where you least expect it, such as on your thighs. In this article I will look at the causes of bacne and show you the best, easy to use body acne home treatment regime.

What Causes Body Acne?

The truth is that body acne can crop up anywhere where your sebaceous glands overproduce sebum (an oily substance) and bacteria is present. This bacteria is usually harmless and lives on your skin, but given the right circumstances it will infect clogged pores. Finally, a pimple appears when a clogged pore swells up and turns red.

The two building blocks for acne are sebum and bacteria. But there are several factors that will predispose you to getting pimples from diet to genetics. Scientists aren’t entirely sure why some people are more susceptible to getting body acne than others but whatever the cause, you can treat body acne easily at home.

Body Acne Home Treatment

Bacne can be harder to treat than that on your face, because the skin tends to be thicker therefore acne treating ingredients need to be able to penetrate more layers of skin. Also, a challenge in treating certain types of body acne is that it is hard to reach.

You can follow the following body acne home treatment regime to get rid of bacne fast:

  1. body acne home treatmentFirstly, use a body wash that is designed for body acne, such as that in the Clear Pores kit. This will kill the bacteria that is infecting your pores. It will also help to prevent breakouts by cleaning away excess sebum.
  2. Next, exfoliate the area once or twice a week. Some people have been told that body acne doesn’t react well to exfoliation and therefore it shouldn’t be done. This simply isn’t true because your body has thicker skin than your face so needs a tougher treatment. You can easily do this using a loofah.
  3. Another home treatment technique is salt soaking. You can use epsom salts in water in a bath, or if you are lucky enough to live by the sea a daily swim is helpful for treating bacne.
  4. Try to wear loose clothing to avoid trapping sweat next to the skin which will worsen body acne. Wear clean clothes over the affected area every day. Yes ladies, this means a daily change of bra if you have breast acne or a change of shirt for men.
  5. Your detergent might be breaking you out without you realizing it. Try switching your detergent to a mild alternative that is though to be hypoallergenic and you will soon see if it makes a difference.

The ultimate body acne treatment is Clear Pores, which you can use in the comfort of your home. I think it is better than other acne kits like Proactiv because it has specific products to focus on treating body acne in a gentle yet effective way.

3 Steps to Get Rid of Hormonal Adult Acne

With these 3 easy steps to help you get rid of hormonal adult acne, you will have a definite plan to tackle your pimples that are caused by hormones. If you get your hormones in a state of balance then hopefully your skin will balance too and your pimples and cysts will heal.

How do you balance your hormones though? Follow my 3 step anti acne plan detailed below:

Acne Clearing Diet

Sometimes the food we eat contains unhelpful hormones that can cause our natural hormone levels to go haywire. Typical foods that contain these hormones are:

  • Meat
  • Dairy

The first place to start when it comes to getting rid of hormonal adult acne is by cutting out or down on these two foods. That is easier to type than it is to put into action though, especially if you eat lots of milk or dairy.

hormonal adult acneSimple switches can help you to avoid unhealthy animal hormones from your food. You can try different milk substitutes such as coconut, rice or soy milk. These days the availability of vegan cheese and other dairy is high so it should be fairly easy to make the switch.

There are other foods to avoid to get rid of hormonal adult acne such as junk and pre-packaged foods. These are full of additives, preservatives and additives that can cause a reaction in your body which leads to pimples or cysts forming.

A reduction in sugar will also help. This is because lots of sugar causes your insulin levels to spike in your bloodstream. This encourages unhelpful hormones to be produced which can affect your skin.

In general if you want to clear up your adult acne it is best to eat a diet filled with natural whole foods and follow sensible diet advice such as eating plenty of fresh fruit and veg. This will contribute towards clearing acne by balancing your hormones and also improve the condition of your skin.

Reduce Your Stress Levels

Stress really does cause havoc in your body. I know that when I had acne (until I was aged 30) I always had a breakout of acne after a period of stress. So how do you tackle stress and therefore the hormones it produces?

  1. Exercise – This is a great way to balance your hormone levels by providing a release from stress. Especially if you tend to mask your stress levels and keep them bottles up. If you exercise vigorously at least 3 times a week you can reduce your stress levels and therefore take control over your acne causing hormones.
  2. Meditation – Taking  few minutes to sit quietly and contemplate is well known as a way to reduce stress. You don’t have to sit for long, we all have busy lives these days and making time for meditation can be difficult. But if you sit still, concentrate on your breathing and feel your body relax then you can really make an impact on your stress hormones. Do this every day for maximum results.

Treat Your Skin to Get Rid of Hormonal Adult Acne

To get rid of hormonal adult acne you have to treat your skin from the outside as well as inside. This involves buying a full acne clearing system such as Clear Pores which is ideal for adult skin.

You can buy the facial Clear Pores kit or the full body treatment kit if you also have adult bacne. The ingredients are gentle enough not to irritate your skin but powerful enough to effectively and quickly get rid of cysts and pmples.

Exercise for Acne Free Skin – Does it Work?

There is no doubt that exercising is good for your body, but is it good for getting acne free skin? Did you know that working out could actually be the solution to you getting rid of acne for good? In this guide to exercise for acne free skin I outline 6 reasons why you should exercise to get clear skin.

Important – Always try to shower or clean your skin asap after exercise to avoid sweat blocking your pores and causing pimples.

Here are six main reasons why exercise is good for your skin:

  1. exercise for acneIt allows toxins to be released – Sweat contains toxins that may have been affecting your health as well as contributing towards pimples and acne. When you exercise hard enough to sweat you allow those toxins to leave your body through sweat where they can’t cause acne any more.
  2. Improves your circulation – Your skin needs a healthy blood supply in order to be healthy and clear, and properly heal acne. Exercise gets your blood pumping around your body, giving your skin the circulation it needs.
  3. Reduces stress levels – The link between stress and acne is well researched. Have you noticed that when you get stressed out you get a breakout a few days later? Lowering stress isn’t just good for clearing acne, it is also good for your general well-being too.
  4. Opens your pores – Pores get clogged with acne causing bacteria and general dust and debris from your environment. When you sweat, your pores open allowing the pore clogging particles to escape. That’s why it is so important to wash your skin all over after working out so you can wash away the pore clogging materials.
  5. It increases oxygen levels in your body – Your skin needs oxygen in order to be healthy and act as a barrier towards acne bacteria, as well as to clear up existing acne.
  6. You drink a lot more water – Humble water is really the wonder substance for getting healthy, pimple free skin. Having well hydrated skin also helps plump up acne scars and improve their appearance.

What Else Is Good For Getting Clear Skin?

After exercise you are going to want to wash and cleanse your face and body to get rid of pore clogging materials that have been released in sweat. But what products do you need in order to do so?

I found my own acne prone skin breaks out when I use certain shower gels and cleansers. What it didn’t react to was the Clear Pores acne clearing system which contains face and body products that aim to give you clear skin fast.

The full acne clearing kit contains everything you need to treat face and body acne (also known as bacne) with gentle but powerful ingredients specifically designed to treat even the most stubborn pimples, cysts and acne lesions.

List of Acne Foods To Eat To Fight Acne

If you have acne, you may be using topical treatments on the outside of your skin to treat it. It can also be helpful to change your diet to include anti-acne foods. These foods will help your body to fight off spot causing bacteria and help you on your way to clearer skin.

It might be true that you need to get more of specific nutrients in your diet in order to get clear skin. If you eat the following list of acne fighting foods as often as possible, then your skin should improve dramatically.

Fruit and Vegetables

The first in this list of acne foods is one we have heard time and time again that we should eat more of in order to treat acne. I apologize for repeating old advice, but people repeat it for a reason.

Getting more fruit and veg into your diet will give your body the essential nutrients it needs to fight off spot-causing bacteria. Certain fruit and veggies are better than others.

  • Red grapes are filled with antioxidants that contribute to clearing up spots and cysts.
  • Avocados have loads of vitamin C and vitamin E which can both help improve the condition of your skin.
  • Fennel is ideal for detoxifying skin and you can buy tasty teas with this as a key ingredient.
  • More vitamin C can be found in broccoli, lemons and oranges. This vitamin reduces the inflammation which makes spots look angry and red.

Sorry vegetarians, if you want to get the benefits of high levels of omega-3 fatty acids then you will want to eat seafood. They reduce inflammation that leads to clogged pores. And we all know it’s our clogged pores that lead to pimples and cysts.

The best type of fish to eat to get the maximum benefits of eating seafood are:

  1. salmon as acne foodSalmon
  2. Tuna
  3. Sardines
  4. Mackerel

An added bonus of eating these fish is that they are low in fat and high in protein, so if you’re also trying to lose weight they are ideal.

Nuts and Grains

Taking care of your overall skin health will contribute to boosting your bodies ability to reduce acne lesions.

Nuts such as almonds and hazelnuts contain some nutrients that are essential if you want to clear up pimples. These include selenium, calcium, potassium, zinc and iron. Zinc is particularly good for getting clear skin.

Wholegrains like brown rice are full of the antioxidant vitamin B. This vitamin is great for killing off acne bacteria. Add garlic to your brown rice for a bonus skin clearing effect and taste.

What Acne Foods Should I Avoid?

Common sense comes into play when it comes to avoiding acne-causing foods. Junk foods like takeouts and sugary treats are thought to cause the ideal environment for acne bacteria to breed.

What Else Can I Do To Fight Acne?

Now that we have covered treating acne from the inside, let’s take a look at topical solutions. When we have pimples that are hard to treat, we can reach for loads of different products in an attempt to get rid of them quickly. This is the worst thing you can do as you could irritate your skin and make the breakout worse!

What is the best idea is buying a kit that contains a few essential, synergistic products that all work together to fight off acne bacteria and unclog pores.

Clear Pores is ideal for most cases of acne, even those that have proved hard to treat. It is a high quality kit that is well established as an effective acne cure.

The Acne Vaccine: How Will It Work?

Rumors of an “Acne Vaccine” have been circulating both print and online media. No wonder that there has been such an interest, considering 80% of men and women aged 11-30 are affected by acne.

Sometimes acne creeps beyond these years, or leaves permanent scarring. A vaccination that would stop people from suffering from this problem would be very welcome.

Who is Making the Acne Vaccine?

At present, scientists at the University of California San Diego are working on the vaccine. It is unclear whether the product will be made available over the counter to the mass market, or whether it would be administered by a dermatologist as a prescription only treatment.

The road to finding this potential acne cure has been difficult, with the lead researcher of the project saying:

“we couldn’t create a vaccine for the bacteria because, in some ways, P. acnes are good for you”

Eric C. Huange, UC San Diego

How Will The Acne Vaccine Work?

scientistScientists used to believe an acne cure would only be possible if it eradicated P. acnes bacteria completely. Therefore the use of antibiotics like doxycycline are widespread.

I used Doxycycline and found an improvement but didn’t achieve full clearance.

The problem with this theory of eradicating P. acnes completely is that it this bacteria can actually have a few beneficial effects.

So the new vaccine will take a different approach to curing acne for good.

“we found an antibody to a toxic protein that P. acnes bacteria secrete on skin — the protein is associated with the inflammation that leads to acne.”

Eric C. Huange, UC San Diego

The finished product will target this specific protein and calm inflammation in order to put a stop to acne once and for all.

Does the Acne Vaccine Work?

As I am writing this article, scientists are in the process of using skin biopsies with success. Next there are plans to trial the treatment on people in clinical studies.

Only time will tell if this is the solution we have all been waiting for. There are some uncertainties and the results of the clinical studies will be well awaited. I will update this article with any news.

What Else Can Cure Acne?

In the meantime there are other steps you can take to gain complete clearance of acne. Buying a powerful yet gentle to skin acne clearing system such as Clear Pores will get you well on your way to perfect skin.

It contains everything needed to clear out pores, soothe inflammation and clear up active acne from pimples to cysts. There is an optional set of products specifically designed to clear up stubborn body acne for example on your back and chest.

How To Cleanse Your Adult Acne Prone Skin Like A Pro

Having adult acne means some products you use will be different from those used by someone with teenage acne. Overall though, the basics are the same. You need to clean your face properly and help to replace the moisture lost in the cleansing process. You also need to protect your skin. Let’s look at the adult acne cleansing process in more detail.

Choose a Gentle Cleanser

I used to try out loads of different cleansing products on my acne prone skin. Face washes weren’t for me because they were messy and seemed to be targeted towards younger skin. Some cleansers simply made my skin irritated and red because they were too harsh.

cleansingYou want to find a gentle enough cleanser that won’t irritate your acne-prone skin. Pick one that isn’t bundled in with an exfoliator because skin with spots doesn’t need exfoliating twice a day! Again, you will just end up annoying your skin and causing more breakouts.

You might not even want to buy a cleanser that is made especially for acne because a cleanser’s job is to thoroughly clean the skin. And only well cleaned skin can absorb anti-acne products properly.

If you use face wipes or cotton pads in your cleansing routine, try to be as gentle as possible without dragging the skin. One other problem we want to avoid is premature aging!

As a general rule, try to avoid just cleansing with soap as it isn’t very effective (especially for removing makeup) and leaves a soapy residue on your face which allows acne bacteria to breed underneath.

Exfoliate 2-3 Times a Week

Although you don’t want to exfoliate every day, please don’t neglect it completely because it goes a long way to unclog pores and slough off dead skin cells. This is an important process for beating adult acne because blocked pores means whiteheads and maybe even cysts.

Aim to exfoliate 2-3 times spread out across the week. This way, you will get those pores cleaned out often enough to help banish acne bacteria, but not too often where your skin would end up irritated and even producing more oil to make up for the loss of oil during the exfoliation process.

Proper Moisturizing

You don’t want your skin to dry out. If it gets too dry, it is going to lead to irritation and inflammation, both of which are not good for acne.

Back in the day acne treatments were all made based on the theory of drying out the skin as people often saw an improvement albeit temporary. Nowadays dermatologists have realized that this is not the way to go to clear up acne and spots for good.

No, instead you must take care of your skin by moisturizing to replenish lost moisture from the cleansing process. As well as drinking plenty of water, this is one of the few ways of getting your skin hydrated so it can face tackling acne breakouts.

Make sure you choose wisely when looking for a moisturizer, just like with your cleanser. Choose one that is meant for your skin type, whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin.

Apply Sunscreen Every Day

I’d give this advice to everyone, especially for people who live in sunny climates. But I would particularly advise someone with adult acne to apply sunscreen every day because there is evidence to suggest that the suns rays cause those brown/red marks we often call “acne scars” after acne fades.

Buying an All In One Acne Cleansing Kit

Clear Pores is absolutely my number 1 recommended kit for adult acne. It is more sophisticated than cheaper but ineffective anti-acne products, as it works from the inside out.

You get everything from a herbal pill for tackling factors and processes inside your body that contribute to spots, to a cleansing face wash that not only removes every trace of makeup. It also unclogs pores and treats active acne.

How to Treat Stubborn Back Acne

Usually affecting men and women aged 12-24, acne is a widespread skin problem. It doesn’t just affect your skin, it goes deeper than that causing emotional issues a stress to people that have it (1).

Back acne (also known as bacne) is a type of acne that is different from the usual pimples on your face, not just because of where it is located. In fact, acne can be found on the neck, chest and body in some people.

What Causes Back Acne?

woman with clear back

Knowing what is causing back acne is frustrating, as the cause isn’t always obvious. Some reasons for back acne are similar to cause of facial acne, but some causes are specific to the back.

Factors include:

  • Tight clothes that cause trapped sweat to remain on the skin for too long.
  • Carrying heavy objects like backpacks can cause spots along the stress points against your back.
  • Hormonal changes, especially in women, which make the skin more susceptible to acne all over.

Clearing Up Back Acne

You really want to keep your back as dry and clean as possible. This means taking a shower using gentle spot fighting products after working out or a stressful day. Also, try to wear loose fitting clothes if the weather is warm (2).

Getting your back properly cleaned is important and difficult. Because you cant reach it, it doesn’t usually get a proper clean. Try using an exfoliating wash in the shower along with a back brush (which you must clean regularly too!). This will slough away dead skin cells preventing new acne from forming. You don’t want to overdo it by scrubbing away too hard, as this can stimulate your oil producing glands in the long run.

If your back acne has became more severe, causing cysts and nodules that leave marks then it is important to see a dermatologist to try and minimize the damage to your skin.

You could use an over the counter product such as Clear Pores to treat most cases of acne. You should also look at your diet to see if you can eliminate anything that might be causing acne, such as too much dairy or soy, although the link between diet and acne has not been proven.

When working out it is inevitable that you will sweat, so it is impossible to keep 100% dry but wearing loose fitting cotton based clothing is the way forward to stop acne bacteria from breeding. Back acne is known to be more stubborn that face acne, because the skin on your back is thicker than on your face.

Bacne might require stronger treatments like oral antibiotics and topical lotions. The key points are to keep your back clean, dry and wear looser clothing. Try a product like Clear Pores which has a body wash specifically designed for tackling stubborn back acne.

Visiting a Dermatologist for Acne for the First Time

Having acne isn’t a small problem if you are suffering from it. Millions of people across the world suffer from this common but irritating problem, and it can be an embarrassing illness to suffer from.

When you have tried most of the over the counter treatments the next logical step is to consider seeing a professional dermatologist. Because they are highly trained and have seen loads of patients with skin like yours they are better placed to advise you on what treatments to try to help you get clear skin.

It is important to remember that they aren’t magic and it may still be a long drawn out process of trial and error before you find a product that works. Although they can’t fix your acne problem overnight they can certainly put you on the right path to make sure you don’t suffer longer than you need to.

acne dermatologistWhat to do when visiting a dermatologist?

So what should you remember when going to see a specialist. Firstly, remember that these doctors are often very busy especially when health-care is readily accessible like the NHS in the UK. That shouldn’t put you off however, as a good dermatologist will care about helping you sort out your skin problem quickly and take the time to explain treatments with you in detail.

Here are some tips on visiting a dermatologist for the first time:

  • Ask lots of questions. Do the drugs the doctors suggests have side effects? Will they interact with medication you are already taking? These things are crucial to know before you start any program.
  • Tell them everything. Does your acne flare up when you eat dairy products, at a certain time of the month, or have you tried products in the past that didn’t work? This will help the doctor tailor their advice to your skin and its needs.
  • Make sure you fully understand any treatment program the doctor puts you on. When do you have to apply topical treatments and how often? How long will you need to use a treatment before seeing results?
  • Bear in mind that you may have to try several treatments and combinations of creams and pills before you see results. Acne is a complicated problem that can’t be solved overnight.

What can I do to make my acne clear faster?

Whilst going to a dermatologist is a great first step towards treating acne, it can take a long time to see results. You can see faster results if you sort out your skincare regime at home first of all.

You need to be using an all in one system for treating acne instead of loads of different products, as you can’t tell whats working and whats making things worse.

Clear Pores is a full acne treatment system that is carefully balanced so it is unlikely to irritate your skin. It has five parts including a cleansing face wash, body wash and herbal supplement to treat acne from the inside out.

Lustre Pure Light Review

Because I used to have cystsic acne, for a while I saw a professional skin clinic where I received blue light therapy as well as a take home anti acne device called Lustre Pure Light.

I tried looking for personal reviews on the Internet but couldn’t find any so decided to write my own experience.

It wasn’t cheap, I received a £50 discount because I bought it as a package along with the laser therapy, bringing the cost to £300 (about $380). I thought if it gave me the same results as the before and after video I was shown then it would be worth the cost.

The girl I saw in the video admittedly did not have as many cysts on her face as me, but her case of acne was moderate so I was impressed when they showed her after using the lights (for an unspecified period) and she appeared to be much more clear.

lustre pure light deviceHow do you use it?

First of all, what was it like to use? Well I soon got used the routine of using it twice a day for half an hour at a time. You basically attach three pads to your face with special sticky tabs and leave it to work.

The pads aren’t big enough to cover your whole face, but the idea is you pick the three worst breakout areas to use them on.

Straight away I have to say I wouldn’t recommend it for people who have light acne, there are much cheaper options that can help you with that. This is really meant for cases of moderate to severe acne.

How does it work?

The idea is that the blue light kills off acne causing bacteria. Don’t expect your skin to burn or crust up like with hardcore laser therapy from a clinic though, you won’t notice immediate results. In fact, I didn’t notice any change for a long, long time.

So did it work? The short answer is no, it didn’t work for me. I was so disappointed after using it for six months, day and night, every day. That’s a lot of time and money to invest to see poor results. Maybe it works for some people, maybe my acne was too severe, but in my honest opinion it just isn’t worth it.

For now I’m going to stick with the ClearPores package that has gradually improved my skin to the point where I can go out without makeup on if I choose, and nobody has commented on my skin. In fact, I have even regained a lot of confidence! I’m getting less breakouts and the body wash included in the complete kit has really tackled my “bacne”.
